If drinking or drug taking is affecting you, your family or anyone you know, talk it over with one of our trained workers. Confidential counselling, advice, information and support are available at a centre near you. Our office is open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm with a late drop in on a Wednesday between 6pm and 8pm. There is a 24 hour answering machine available. Our premises are accessible by wheelchair.
HARCAS is based at 85 South Parade Northallerton and operates a drop in most days from 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 4pm. However an appointment can be made at Health Centres throughout the districts, including Bedale, Thirsk, Leyburn, Stokesley, Great Ayton, Colburn, Catterick and Easingwold at a time which is mutually convenient
HARCAS may be able to assist in referring a client to a rehabilitation centre or detoxification unit. This may involve the local specialist nurse, who can offer help with medical issue such as prescriptions etc
HARCAS also offer support to anybody who may be concerned about a partner, relative or friend's drug/alcohol/gambling or any related issues
Any information given by you to HARCAS is confidential and will not be passed onto any outside agency unless you have signed a consent form giving us the right to do so. HARCAS may pass on information if they think you could harm yourself or others but they will talk to you about it first. This would only happen in exceptional circumstances.
